State-of-the-art passive and active testing methods are used, such as side-channel attack testing, fault injections, cryptanalysis and electromagnetic spectrum analysis. The customer gets valuable information about the critical security vulnerabilities in hardware, low-level software and application software layers, that would endanger the entire security in the embedded system. A customer project starts typically with the pre-study or concepting, where the system requirements, features and security levels are defined. The development work continues with embedded hardware and software design, integrating anti-tamper protection mechanisms, countermeasures and cryptographic algorithms deeply into the system. The developed solution is validated with several testing methods to fulfill security, functional, EMC and environmental requirements, before the manufacturing and mass production phase. Security aspects are integrated also into the production, where component sourcing, assembly and software integration are the most critical parts. Now the embedded solution is ready for the secure delivery and operational use.
